After a year of not living nearly slowly enough, getting pent up about the proper use of semi-colons and the like, worrying about the cost of printing in Australia and stressing about the thousands of things it takes to put books together, we’re happy…nay, relieved to say
The Slow Guide to Melbourne and
The Slow Guide to Sydney will be published from 1 October and will cost $29.95 each. Quite unexpectedly on time. See
slow guides (top right) for the hard sell because, right now, we’re going back to smell the roses. Oh, and if you find mistakes, do let us know. But not until AFTER CHRISTMAS!

So looking forward to finding great slow things to do with the family - can't wait for the book to be in the stores. Just in time for Christmas gifts.

If the website is anything to go by, with its great design, beautiful photography and easy reading, I would love to grab a copy for myself and get to know Melbourne all over again and learn even more about my city.

Life runs at such a hectic pace these days, it will be so nice to "slow" the pace down a little and read about all the great things Melbourne has to offer and then go out and try some! We have an amazing city with so many hidden treasures and I am looking forward to seeking some of these out.

I had the great good fortune to read the introduction to the Melbourne edition recently and really loved the humourous way it was written. It made me want to get my hands on a copy and read the whole thing from cover to cover - as slowly as possible!

What a fantastic concept. Let's all sit up, look around, switch on all our senses and take the time to absorb everything around us in our wonderful city. We might be lucky enough to see something quite different through "slow" eyes! Can't wait to read the book.
