Become a walking billboard for slow with one of these unique and extremely limited brooches or necklaces, constant reminders to you and anybody that checks you out to live more and fret less. We made them to help ingratiate ourselves with the media but decided – mercenary marketing types we are – that they were too good to just give away. So contribute to this website with a useful comment, email with an idea for a thread, or just share something suitably slow and you'll go into the running (or should that be cantering?) for one of the 10 pieces we'll give away at random over the next couple of weeks. There are also fabulous blackboards, which we'd be very happy to keep all to ourselves. But we could probably be persuaded to part with a few if asked nicely.

Every time I go down Northcote Hill on the tram, I see an incredibly tall palm tree. It is there all by itself. I don't know where it belongs, whether it's a private garden or a park. It has been hunting me for years. One day I just want to walk towards it, following its sight, I want to see it and touch it.
Do you have any visual city point of reference that you have seen many times but that you actually don't know anything about? Why don't you take the time to find out?
OK, can I have the brooche now?
One of Melbourne's best kept secrets, and newest slow spot is Edgewater Lake in Maribyrnong. Alongside the lake is a preotected and idyllic wetlands pond. Over the spring I have had the priviledge of watching a pir of black swans raise their three cygnets from timid balls of fluff to elegant teenage swans. Does it get any better than this?

I'm so pleased to see your first release. I've been eagerly awaiting to see what you'd come out with since you left the Big Issue, and on the strength of this first offering, which looks divine, I can't wait to see what's next.
If I still lived in Melbourne I'd be clamouring for a copy of the book, and as it is I'm compiling a list of people who might need a copy for Christmas...
I love the idea of publishing that engages community at different levels and hope that this enterprise brings joy and new experiences to those who take the time to enjoy it.
Thanks for your work and best wishes.

love the brooch! and of course all it represents . . residing in slow old Adelaide I am happy to take things at an easy pace, growing food, cycling and walking. Am heading to Melbourne next month so am keen to use your guide to check out how the big smoke goes slow!
